Sad. Liberals I know of want to say its all a huge free for all out there... but what society ends up with, when people flounce around with casual, careless sexual mistakes... mistakes in general; misery, and screwed mental troubles. Sad... I've been reading on the deaths of some of these guys; Layne Staley, etc.

Whatever the case may be, Eddie Vedder began using his Mom's maiden name for his own last name, just as I assigned my kids with my maiden name and refused to use their fathers' names (when I could have). Why? Because of the crap treatment those men dished out. They weren't loyal, faithful, honest companions. Obviously... Eddie Vedder's Mom split up with his biological father.
Why do liberals want to promote screwed up lives, that hurt young people... then when kids like Jeremy (the true story of "Jeremy" appears to be located at this page), are putting a gun to their head and pulling the trigger in front of all their classmates, notice.. the liberals are quiet. But oddly enough... Eddie Vedder was the vocalist for that very song.

Seems even *some* Atheists realize there's screwed up errors, aka "sins" that screw up people's lives... and the innocent affected by those mistake carry the cross, crucified for it (so to speak). The world needs a lot more love, aka accountability, and doing to others what you want done to yourself, that includes counting the consequences your own mistakes will have on your loved ones (if you have the capacity to love anyone at all). It is my belief that God allows (sometimes even tempts mankind) -- into situations like the one in this video, the test and trial to become stronger, better, overcome the world. Putting a gun to your head is the easy way out.

Edward Louis Severson III entered the world in the Chicago suburb of Evanston, where he was greeted right away with a convoluted family life.
Raised to believe that his mother's second husband was his biological father, his actual father (known to him only as a family friend) died of multiple sclerosis before the fact of his parentage was revealed. His adoptive father separated from the family when Eddie was in his early teens, adding more to his emotional troubles and compelling him to find refuge in drugs and, more constructively, an extensive record collection. While in high school he became active in local garage bands, eventually dividing his time between Chicago and San Diego in order to paricipate in both music scenes. He formed his first band, Bad Radio, during this period, but, due to an inability to expand beyond a regional audience, the project was later dissolved.
Through his friend and sometime Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Jack Irons, Vedder (who been using his mother's maiden name since learning about his real father) was exposed to a demo tape put together by guitarists Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, both formerly of the band Mother Love Bone. Vedder dubbed his vocals over the instrumental tracks and sent it to the duo in Seattle; they were impressed enough with the results that they immediately invited the singer to fly out for a visit. The three individuals meshed well on a personal level, and within days Vedder had made a permanent move to Seattle to begin work on the new band in earnest. Initially, they performed as Mookie Blaylock, the name of a favorite basketball player; before any records had been released, however, this was altered to Pearl Jam, in honor of an aunt's peyote-laced preserves. Blaylock was still given a nod in the title chosen for their debut album: Ten (1991) being the ball player's jersey number. Several months before work on this album started, a short-lived project was undertaken with members of Soundgarden under the name Temple of the Dog, resulting in a single eponymous record at the end of 1990.
Following the release of Ten, Pearl Jam immediately achieved enormous popularity, being one of several bands (Soundgarden, Nirvana, and Alice in Chains amongst them) to benefit from the hype surrounding the initial attle "grunge" explosion. In particular, the song Jeremy -- whose subject matter centered around a boy who commits suicide in front of his classmates -- gained Vedder and the band both notoriety and a devout fan base amongst alienated teens. The next two albums, Vs. (1993) and Vitalogy (1994) were met with equal success, but by this time a backlash against the "grunge hype" was becoming evident. Around the release of Vitalogy, the band's press coverage was distracted away from its music to concentrate instead on a conflict with (and subsequent law suit against) the ubiquitous ticket vendor/extortion racket Ticketmaster; sadly, the resolution to this conflict failed to bring about much improvement in the situation. With the next release, No Code, a deliberate move away from a commercial sound was made, resulting in a corresponding drop in sales. 1998's Yield made a return to a more accessible style more in keeping with the band's earlier records...."

Know God?
Why God allows suffering? Why, sometimes, it is God who creates evil. Even Eddie Vedder knows God, I think.footnote... in the video where the line is crossed and _chooses_ to take his own life. It is always a choice.

Morals existed long before the bible and don't exist today because of the bible.
ReplyDeleteIf we followed the bible's attempt at morality, we'd be stoning people, killing and mutilating kids for disobedience, overthrowing weaker cities and cities that do not believe in your God (I was raised catholic so even though i'm now atheist, it's the same god as mine also) and after overthrowing that city, we'd kill all non-virgins and enslave the rest as our workforce and rape whoever whenever we wanted out of the remaining.
Re-read the old and new testament if you do not believe this.
Even though these things are in the bible we do not adhere to these statements made by the supposed God and other speakers, not because we don't believe in god, but because we have constructed better morals than the bible has provided.
It's not rocket science, it's obvious whats right and wrong for the most part.
Christianity as a whole has only contributed two things to civilization...
Know what they are?
The Dark Ages and the Salem Witch Trials.
And this is not to say that only Christians make mistakes, obviously both sides make mistakes, because it's people that make mistakes.
The point is that Christianity has never made a difference, it's had thousands of years...
People become atheist when they are exposed to education, its that simple, and it could be as simple as bible education and logic to turn you atheist.
But, until you read the bible and understand all the surrounding facts, you will never understand the minds of atheists.
Most scholars that undergo extensive studies and learn the languages to be able to read these ancient scrolls often become atheist without even trying to. That should tell you something is wrong and research why that is.
It is after all important whether God exists or not isn't it?
I implore you to do some research into why atheists become so.
Not to change your mind, that is up to you and your choice, but at least learn why so many people deny themselves your God and are comfortable with your assertions that we will end up in hell and it doesn't affect us at all, find out why.
Now I will give you some quotes from the old testament that show my point that morals do not come from the bible...As for the claim that morals were documented thousands of years before the bible was written, you can find that out anywhere...
The point of this one to me is, God is dumb enough to believe in sorcerers? Then maybe he isn't real, maybe this is a human making this up. Not to mention it paved the way to burn witches at the stake.

Now this next one is ridiculous, because it is proven that there is a gay gene that some people are born this way, so if god has a problem with the gays, why did he makes some of us that way?
Is that some sort of sick cruel prank by god? Or is this evidence that this is all fiction....

Now that I have shown you but a taste into the morality that was accepted, let me say this before your response, if you pick and choose what scriptures are good and which are bad, isn't that like saying god has made a mistake? And I would also tell you that if you pick and choose there is no way to know if any of these texts are accurate, so I deem this book (on pure logic) that its a primitive written fiction and if any society were to use it's moral code would be cast back into chaos and destruction, life would not be pleasant.
These are really good points and I hope that you have actually let them sink in and not just turned and rolled your eyes to them, because these are real, it is a real point to make.And if this is not enough...
I'll add the timeline of creation into the mix, not sure if you know this, but if you study these texts scrupulously, you would find (with the combination of a few texts) that there is a timeline of about 5900 years between gods creation of the universe and today.
If you want to know how this is done, research it, if its so important to you as I have, it's been over a decade I've been studying this subject...
Now, science has proven the universe from the big bang to be nearly 68 billions years old.
And in case you don't believe in the big bang
(though I'm not sure why you wouldn't considering that the way we came up with it was that its light was discovered so it has more evidence to back it than any evidence you could present for god)
There is also every star in the sky as evidence that the universe is older than 5900 years, also the dinosaur bones, fossils, Wolly Mammoth that are 10,000 years old and older that have been so greatly preserved that it still had its last meal preserved in it's belly (from the ice).
There is so much evidence to support the world and universe to be older than 5900 years old (evolution,the above mentioned, fossils) there is literally more evidence for this than the theory of gravity....
And this timeline is important towards your faith whether you understand it is or you don't.

Why do you think a lot of different sects portray dinosaurs and humans coexisting.
Because it goes against their beliefs so they (even though the bible doesn't tell them to do this) alter their beliefs to say that humans and dinosaurs coexisted
They even have a theme park in Florida that has rides and educational films convincing people that the scientific community believe we co-existed when science has never said anything of the sort.
The park looks like something out of the Flintstones, people having saddles on dinosaurs riding them...It's ridiculous to say the least.
That's why it is very important to understand that this evidence is important to the bible's claims.
This is all I'm going to say until I get a reply.
I hope this is a well received message, as I am not really trying to get you to convert to atheist but merely trying to get you to understand our viewpoint. We atheists simply believe that there is sufficient evidence to suggest that these ancient barbaric texts are null and void, fiction, and that very book is also ridiculous evidence to also suggest how implausible it all is.
